Oral treatments, such as tablets and chewables, are a popular alternative to topical flea and tick treatments. They can be useful in multi-pet households, or households with children, as there is no need to restrict contact after administering.
Credelio chewable tabletseBravecto chewables work quickly to kill adult fleas, stopping them from laying eggs. These oral treatments also kill ticks that may transmit deadly diseases including the black-legged tick, American dog tick, brown dog tick, and Lone Star tick.
The key difference between these two products is the dosage schedule. Credelio, like many other medications, is administered once a month. Bravecto has a longer coverage period, protecting against fleas and ticks for 12 weeks (8 weeks for Lone Star ticks).
Credelio is suitable for use in dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age and older, and weighing a minimum of 4.4 lbs (2kg). Bravecto is safe for use only in dogs and puppies 6 months and older, and weighing 4.4 lbs (2kg) or greater. Credelio has not been evaluated as safe for use with pregnant or nursing dogs.
